Participants will receive support and access training materials on the following topics:

Determining which learning targets are most essential

Reaching consensus on the type of thinking, or cognitive processes, each essential learning target requires from students

Describing proficient performance, or how they will know when students have met learning targets

Sequencing learning targets (and thus curriculum), and
-
Engaging with students so they understand what learning is expected from them

What is it?
Cross-district learning communities provide opportunities for role-similar professionals to deepen their learning and strengthen their ability to support change efforts within their district or BOCES. Participants
in cross-district Learning Communities will come together in person 4-6 days during the year focused around a specific topic.

In which learning community should we participate?
Communities will be topic-focused. Ask yourself and potential participants…Will the focused work and support help you implement and achieve your goals? How will this community assist you in developing new
leadership and specific content skills?
What is the cost of this service?
Cross-District Learning Community participants will pay a fee of $400—$700 for each community they join. This fee includes 4-7 day-long regional or local meetings during the school year. Community size will
range from 15-25 participants. See specifics under each topic area.
Location
Locations will be based on who participates in the communities they may be hosted throughout the state at regional, district, school sites. Sufficient numbers must be generated to support costs.
