TEACHER LEADERSHIP CERTIFICATE

The Teacher Leadership Certificate is designed to improve student learning through increasing the knowledge, skills, and dispositions of teachers. Teachers who participate in the program believe that they can implement meaningful change in their school and district by focusing actions on student learning.

Offered by Front Range Board of Cooperative Educational Services for Teacher Leadership (FRBOCES), with graduate credit from the University of Colorado Denver, the coursework focuses on extending learning beyond the expertise needed for the classroom.

Using data to improve instructional practice, organizing colleagues around a common purpose, coaching and facilitating adults in a nonjudgmental manner, setting goals, organizing time, leading staff development activities and sustaining the commitment of others are some of the skills taught in the modules.

“Teacher leaders are the new pioneers in public education.” (Mizell, 2004)
