Overview of the event list for Front Range BOCES

Institutes and Workshops
Workshops are designed to provide participants with basic information and increase their awareness of important learning topics. Institutes are designed to provide opportunities for participants to move from knowing about a topic to making specific practice changes.  Institutes are scheduled for 3 or 4 days over several months, to allow for in-district practice and coaching support between days. Several on-line institutes are also available.

Learning Communities
Cross-district learning communities deepen training and coaching capacity within districts or BOCES on specific topics, including: developing professional learning communities, facilitating change and collaboration, clarifying learning, using quality and common assessment to support learning, and using classroom assessment to help learners take responsibility for their own learning process. Cross-district learning communities are designed for staff members who have responsibility for facilitating improvements in educational practice locally such as instructional coaches, professional development staff, or other instructional leaders.

Onsite Support
Schools, districts and BOCES ready to bring support to their site will have the opportunities to access high-quality on-site coaching, facilitation and professional learning. On-site support can be focused on any of the topics described in this catalogue and may include a variety of services.

Teacher Leadership Certificate
The Teacher Leadership Certificate is designed to improve student learning by increasing the knowledge, skills and dispositions of teachers. Teachers who participate in the program believe that they can implement meaningful change in their school and district by focusing actions on student learning. Offered by the Front Range Board of Cooperative Educational Services for Teacher Leadership (FRBOCES), with the graduate credit from the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center, each of the three courses focuses teachers on extending learning beyond the expertise needed for the classroom
